Tuesday, 2 November 2011: Ahead of the annual ninemsn Digital Marketing Summit, the company has today announced details of three new internal appointments as the organisation formally integrates the Microsoft Media Network, and restructures into four distinct divisions: Audience, Advertising, Data and Operations.
Alex Parsons, former Director of Marketing and MSN Products, will now head ninemsn’s Audience team as Managing Director, Audience. Alex is charged with building a deeper understanding of the ninemsn audience to enable more personalised and relevant content experiences and advertising solutions. All ninemsn’s audience teams, including content, creative, marketing and product teams including ninemsn, Bing, and Windows Live will report into Alex.
Richard McLaren, existing CTO, will take the role of Chief Data and Technology Officer. In this position, Richard will take ownership of ninemsn’s advertising technologies, including behavioural targeting and the soon to be unveiled advertising exchange, as he leads a team empowered by data driven intelligence to better connect the company’s advertising and audience businesses.
Alex Stewart will see his role evolve from Chief Financial Officer to Chief Operating Officer. As ninemsn expands its operations into new areas such as the Advertising Exchange, Alex’s role as COO will be instrumental in evolving pricing and data management and the resulting legal and financial aspects of these.
ninemsn CEO, Mark Britt, comments: “Today marks the beginning of an incredibly exciting evolutionary step for ninemsn, as we begin to implement improvements and modernisation strategies to our business, enabling us to maintain our leadership and stay ahead of the pack. Central to this are the appointments of Alex Parsons, Richard McLaren and Alex Stewart, who will be instrumental in the roll out and adoption of our vision for the future. I congratulate them all and look forward to shaping our future together.”
Further announcements about changes to ninemsn’s operations will be made at the Digital Marketing Summit on November 9, 2011.
