Sydney, Australia, August 1st, 2011:
Australia’s number one online publisher ninemsn, today unveiled its new homepage, designed to better suit the needs of the 9.7 million people who use ninemsn as their digital base to stay informed, entertained and connected on the web.
The image led new look is based on 18 months of audience research, readership analytics and thinking patterns of users. It features a new identity and a more intuitive format that helps users better interact with the site. It also offers visitors faster loading times, simplified navigation and search, increased personalisation options and an enhanced daily voting tool.
Commenting on the re-design, ninemsn’s Director of Content & Audience Experience, Todd Forest said:
“There is a lot of science and research behind the new homepage. We received feedback from hundreds of our users and the changes to the homepage are based on these insights”.
“The page has been re-engineered to incorporate evolving media trends such as the increasing demand for video on the web, sharing content through social media channels and the use of tablets or smart phones to access web sites. A few years ago Facebook didn’t have much traction and iPhones didn’t exist. It is a different world now. Our audience has changed and we need to change with them".
“The ninemsn homepage still has everything our audience loves, but now with a sleek new look and improved user experience, that will ensure we remain the number one online publisher in the future".
More than 2.2 million people visit the ninemsn homepage each day. To experience ninemsn’s new homepage visit www.ninemsn.com.au.
