New motoring destination to launch in April 2010
Sydney, Australia, Thursday 11th March 2010:
ninemsn today announced it will launch ninemsn Motoring
at the end of April 2010, offering advertisers unprecedented opportunities to associate their brands in an online automotive environment unmatched in Australia. The announcement was made at a breakfast event attended by Sydney’s media agency representatives and follows a similar media agency event held in Melbourne yesterday.
has been designed as the ultimate online motoring pit stop, bringing together content from seven ACP Magazines motoring titles; Wheels, 4x4 Australia, MOTOR, Street Machine, Australasian Dirt Bike, Auto Action and Australian Motorcycle News. The Top Gear Australia website will also be part of the new ninemsn Motoring site.
will incorporate reviews, video, image galleries, Photosynth technology, classifieds and price comparison tools with RateCity. A newly developed online video series called Street Smarts will also feature on ninemsn Motoring targeting the not-so-car-savvy with all the things people want to know about cars but are too afraid to ask.
Commenting on the ninemsn Motoring
launch, Todd Forest, ninemsn's Director of Content and Audience Experience, said: "With more than half a million Australians intending to purchase a car in the next 12 months, and 72 per cent of the ninemsn audience indicating they do their research online before deciding which car to buy*, we know there is a huge appetite for online automotive information.
"However, motoring is not just for car enthusiasts and should be far more than just cars and car reviews. By combining content from ACP Magazines, our own editorial take on motoring and an innovative new design, ninemsn Motoring
will delve into the world of news, lifestyle, entertainment and even celebrity for cars, off-road vehicles, motorbikes and dirt bikes.
"The site is also testament to how well ninemsn and ACP Magazines continue to integrate across multiple platforms in the delivery of great branded content to our audience," Forest said.
Phil Scott, ACP Magazine's Publishing Director, Men's, Specialist and Custom Titles, said: "Our magazines have set the standard for passion and independence for a very long time. This alliance brings that expertise to a wider audience."
delivers innovative commercial opportunities including branded advertising placements through Photosynth and video technologies. Commercial sponsorship packages are still available for the site launch, with Mercedes already confirmed as a partner.
