Andrew Davis, Digital Director, Initiative takes out ninemsn’s Digital Marketing Summit gameshow winning
a $300,000 media buy for Surfrider Foundation Australia

Andrew Davis, Digital Director, Initiative is the smartest person in Australia’s digital industry after today taking out the Digital Showdown gameshow at ninemsn’s sell-out Digital Marketing Summit.
Andrew Davis won the Digital Showdown in a closely contested final against Ellie Rogers, Digital Director, Ikon Communications to receive a $300,000 media buy for his chosen charity, Surfrider Foundation Australia
, as well as a trip to the Cannes International Advertising Festival in 2011.
“A big congratulations to Andrew for taking out Digital Showdown! The questions were tough, and the added pressure of being up on stage and having to think on the spot makes his win all the more impressive. The win is a great accolade for Initiative as well,” ninemsn CEO Joe Pollard said.
“We’re thrilled to be giving a $300,000 media buy to the charity Andrew has selected, Surfrider Foundation Australia. While Andrew won himself a trip to Cannes next year in recognition of his fast thinking and expert digital knowledge.”
Questions put to the Digital Showdown contestants included: ‘who is the Opposition Spokesperson for Communications?’, 'What is the size of a medium rectangle?’ and ‘what does IAB stand for?’.
ninemsn, Australia’s largest online publisher, hosted Digital Showdown at its annual Digital Marketing Summit. The country’s top digital agencies were invited to nominate their brightest staff members to compete Digital Showdown gameshow and represent their brand.
Surfrider Foundation Australia
will receive a $200,000 media buy with ninemsn and a $100,000 media buy with the Nine Network.

Digital Showdown was “Millionaire Hot Seat meets The Weakest Link meets Jeopardy” and it was hosted by the Nine Network’s Kerri-Anne Kennerley.
The ninemsn Digital Marketing Summit, this year themed FFWD5, was an invitation only event hosted by ninemsn at Luna Park, was attended by 650 senior marketing and media professionals as world-class speakers shared their insights and predictions about digital media and marketing for the next five years.
