Sydney, Australia, Tuesday, April 5, 2011:
The Nine Newsbreak application has been downloaded more than 100,000 times since it was launched last week by ninemsn and Nine News, making it the No.1 app on the iTunes store in the News category.
The free iPhone application allows users to stay up to date with day's most vital news stories through twice-daily 60-second video news bulletins created exclusively for the app and featuring Nine Network newsreaders. Updates are provided throughout the day. It also allows users to help report the news with the ability to send photos, videos and news tips directly to Nine's newsroom through the app.
Colonial First State has come on board as an exclusive sponsor for the Nine Newsbreak app. As well as having expandable placements on every page, a Colonial First State mini-site will be hosted within the application.
Emily Bates, Colonial First State's Head of Brand and Advertising, said: "We are always looking for ways to enhance our communication channels with investors. If our clients are telling us they are embracing news apps then we want to be there with them, helping deliver the information they want, and the Nine Newsbreak app meets our needs perfectly.'
Todd Forest, ninemsn's Director of Content and Audience Experience, said: "We are thrilled to have Colonial First State on board as a sponsor. As an authoritative and respected financial brand they are a perfect fit to partner with us on this app."
This month will also see the launch of the iPad version of the Nine Newsbreak app, with Colonial First State on board as a launch sponsor.
