Sydney, Monday, 27th June 2011; Windows Live today announced major updates to SkyDrive - a single service for cloud access and sharing built for the modern web using HTML5.

Incorporating user feedback, SkyDrive boasts a brand new look which includes a more fluid and efficient user interface. This is the first significant new functionality announced for SkyDrive since it launched in 2007.

The updated version of SkyDrive puts content front and center and makes photos shine with the new layout that gets the chrome out of the way. It also uses the latest browsing technology to deliver hardware accelerated graphics, modern HTML and Windows through IE 9 features like pinned sites.

SkyDrive is focused on delivering anywhere access and sharing by seamlessly integrating cloud storage with popular applications and devices. This includes apps like Microsoft Office 2010 and Windows Live Photo Gallery for Windows, Office 2011 for Mac, OneNote for the iPhone. On the web, SkyDrive also works seamlessly with Office Web Apps and Hotmail. Also, SkyDrive is seamlessly integrated with devices like Windows Phone (link).
