Early submission of concept for feedback and guidance BEFORE the agency produces the creative (it is less expensive for the client to amend concepts than production art)

general notes
Width must be 980 pixels (same as the ninemsn homepage and in line with the commercial break header) and maximum height is 1100 pixels. This must be taken into account when designing the creative
Please include commercial break header in your creative. This can be downloaded via the links below
Two (2) separate tags must be supplied; one for the OTP and one for the leave behind
Please reserve the final two seconds of the ad for your call to action, as ads that end abruptly without communicating their message are likely to be returned for revision
flash CPU load restrictions
Irrespective of filesize, the complexity of certain animation effects, slow motion, images, gradients, detailed moving elements and so on may affect the number of calculations the users CPU must action on each frame
Creatives causing unreasonable load on the end users computer will be rejected
This may include, but is not limited to: ActionScript controlled particle events set to randomly generate fog / rain / fireworks etc., imported graphics set to scale up over an extended period of time, animated sequences set to be translucent and animate on top of imported graphics (e.g. JPG, PNG etc.)
general restrictions
To protect our brand equity and the integrity of our editorial we won't accept creative that:
Appears to imitate any elements of the ninemsn homepage in order to make the audience think it's the real homepage
Alters the ninemsn brand, or alters the ninemsn homepage layout, navigation, design or content (including rearranging, destroying, pulling down or ripping apart)
Ads which launch in a new browser window (pop up/pop under) will not be accepted
Ads that shake the browser window or interstitial (between page) will not be accepted
Streaming of additional external video assets is not permitted
Audio is off by default
It is preferred that all campaign creative has a solid background, but we will allow a transparent background for OTP campaigns as long as it has an opacity of no less than 70%
Ninemsn will not accept any campaign elements that extend across or around the page on a transparent background (e.g. animated elements or characters floating 'above' or interacting with the ninemsn brand, navigation, layout or content)

Only Floating reminder 300x250 can have the replay button
Floating leave behind must be frequency capped at 2 per lifetime
If serving through Atlas, in page leave behind must be a iframe
timing
OTP creative must launch as soon as the page loads - executions cannot be paused to launch from the medium rectangle later in the session
frequency cap
OTP and floating leave behind must have a frequency cap of 2 per user over whole flight
For a full day buyout, the frequency cap needs to be time targeted. 1 frequency cap between Midnight and Noon and the other frequency cap between Noon to Midnight
For a half day buyout, the frequency cap is 1 per user
Frequency cap must be done on the 3rd party side (except for the eyewonder tags)
If serving through Atlas, then two tags will need to be supplied, each frequency capped at 1 per user
video
10mb is the total video file size (including the initial 1mb)
Additional file size must be click initiated
A clear call to action indicating that the user will be 'downloading a larger file' must be present on the creative
audio/sound
Sound is off by default
3rd party specific notes
Creative Elements (eg.flash files) to be sent along with the Tags so we can check these are to spec (excluded for eyeblaster tags as we have access to the eyeblaster user interface)
The OTP must be set up as a floating element - it cannot launch from an existing ad property (eg. banner, tower, island)
Please be aware that you need to build the creative to specification of the 3rd party you're serving the ad through. EG Atlas, eyeblaster, doubleclick, eyewonder

Message & logos should be clear and consistent
Images should be appropriate to the general audience nature of the homepage
creative material deadlines
Concept must be submitted at least 4 weeks prior to run date for approval
Material must be delivered at least five (5) working days prior to campaign launch to ensure technical compatibility and internal concept approval
Please note if creative is late an estimated % of impressions equivalent to the prorated daily inventory level will be cancelled from the total impressions booked
Ad is subject to approval and ninemsn reserves the right to request changes to content and/or execution
