The Arch is a rich media execution designed to give advertisers the maximum amount of space on the Ninemsn homepage as possible. Expanding from the 330x1000, two large side panels (300x250) and a top panel (980x150).

All concepts/storyboards must be submitted
10 working days
before the campaign to ensure that the concept complies with the Ninemsn brand/design specifications.
Animation in the initial 980x150 masthead should be less than 15 seconds with no looping allowed. Any additional animation in the masthead area must be click initiated.
The masthead will sit flush with the sidepanels and imagery can bleed between creative elements. The MREC does not sit flush with the right hand side panel and is separated by a 25px page margin.
-The expanding masthead & sidepanels must be built to the technical specifications of the 3rd party (list of supported vendors in table above). Please contact the vendor for more detail on these specifications.
-All audio should be off by default, but can be used for the duration of the masthead provided it is user initiated and has a visible mute/unmute button. Animation replays can start with sound on.
-Additional video/sound content can be downloaded on click initiation (see above for file size limits). Please include a clear call to action indicating that the user will be 'downloading a larger file'.
-The expanded panel must expand down only and never over the site navigation/or Ninemsn header. Expansion is permitted to any size(expanded panel size provided above is only a guide). Full screen takeover is not permitted.
-Please ensure the expanding masthead creative and/or tags sent to Ninemsn have all elements of the creative rendering with a maximum z-index of 3
If ad serving with MediaMind, please contact their
creative support team
and ask them to apply the Ninemsn masthead custom script once uploaded into the MediaMind platform.
Design and Performance
-To protect our brand please ensure:
All images and content are appropriate to the general audience nature of the homepage.
The expanded masthead does not imitate any elements of the ninemsn homepage, any content used in ads must be live content.
The ad does not try to launch an ad in a new browser window(pop up/pop under) or shake the browser window.
-Please ensure that the design complies with the following:
Creative must be designed so that creative elements bleed seamlessly across the entire ad unit(wallpaper, top arch & MREC).
Side Panels must bleed seamlessly with the site background.
Call to action should be located in the MREC and is not permitted in the other elements
Panels may be clickable to the client site or to expand interactive features.
Features which initiate on rollover subject to pre-approval and come with a visible 3 second delay or countdown
Advertisers brand logo must not feature in the top or within 25 pixels from top of page, the size of logo must not exceed ninemsn logo
No borders permitted bigger than 1 pixel, recommend grey border
Sides must be wallpaper;clashing, loud colours will not be permitted
Multiple graphics and fonts will not be permitted
-A maximum of 70% opacity is allowed in the expanded area.
-Please try to minimise the CPU load of any Ad Units submitted and bear in mind that there will be other flash elements on the page slowing down the user's machine. Any ads that cause excessive CPU load and damages user experience once tested on the page will not be accepted.
All ad executions are subject to approval and ninemsn reserves the right to request changes to content and/or execution for brand equity/user experience reasons. If you are unsure about a concept that you are working on please submit it to your sales rep for feedback.
Timelines & Delivery
a. All 3rd party creative should be delivered to Ninemsn via 3rd party ad serving tags. Separate tags should be provided for the masthead,
b. All material must be delivered at least five (5) working days prior to campaign launch to ensure technical compatibility and internal concept approval
If creative is late an estimated % of impressions equivalent to the prorated daily inventory level will be cancelled from the total impressions booked
