The Glider ad unit is an interactive rich media ad format that allows the advertiser to skin the network homepage and offer advertiser branded content from within the Ninemsn environment. It consists of an automatic teaser OTP that displays for 8 seconds that prompts the user to interact with the 300x250 and initiate the glider. The glider is a full page takeover that overlays the whole Ninemsn HP, moving the site content away to reveal advertiser content.

a. Concepts/storyboards for Glider ad units must be submitted 3-4 wks before the campaign to ensure that the concept complies with the Ninemsn brand/design specifications and we can have brief the creative agency on the build.
-The full page OTP must be built to the technical specifications of the 3rd party (list of supported vendors in table above). Please contact the vendor for more detail on these specifications.
-All audio should be off by default, but can be used for the duration of the OTP provided it is user initiated and has a visible mute/unmute button. OTP Replays can start with sound on.
-Additional video/sound content can be downloaded on click initiation (see above for file size limits). Please include a clear call to action indicating that the user will be 'downloading a larger file'.
-A close button must be present on both the OTP and the Glider ad unit in the top right hand corner and should shut down the relevant ad part and return the user to the Ninemsn page. It must display the word Close and an X symbol that has been designed to stand out from the ad and page background (min 40px by 10px)
-If the ad format is being served via MediaMind it should utilise the MediaMind 'Sitesnap' feature to ensure that the page content being moved is live content.
Design and Performance
-To protect our brand please ensure:
All images and content are appropriate to the general audience nature of the homepage.
The ad does not try to launch an ad in a new browser window(pop up/pop under) or shake the browser window.
-A maximum of 70% opacity is allowed in the OTP area. Permission for full transparency can be obtained on a case by case basis. Please contact your sales rep with any mockups/storyboards.
-Please try to minimise the CPU load of any Ad Units submitted and bear in mind that there will be other flash elements on the page slowing down the user's machine. Any ads that cause excessive CPU load and damages user experience once tested on the page will not be accepted.
All ad executions are subject to approval and ninemsn reserves the right to request changes to content and/or execution for brand equity/user experience reasons. If you are unsure about a concept that you are working on please submit it to your sales rep for feedback.
Timelines & Delivery
a. All material must be delivered at least five (5) working days prior to campaign launch to ensure technical compatibility and internal concept approval
If creative is late an estimated % of impressions equivalent to the prorated daily inventory level will be cancelled from the total impressions booked
