With the continued convergence of TV and digital, Mi9 became a part of the Nine Entertainment Co family in November 2013. Nine Entertainment Co agreed to acquire Microsoft’s 50% share of the business which was originally established in 1997, and for 16 years was a 50-50 joint venture between NEC and Microsoft.
